Jay Johnson AI Back to the site

Terms of use

Effective October 13, 2026

The short version: this site tells you about my work. Nothing here is a contract or a quote until we both sign a written agreement. The "Ask my AI" chat is an AI and can be wrong, so check anything important with me.

Who I am

This website is run by Jay Johnson, doing business as Jay Johnson AI, a sole proprietor in Northern Virginia, USA. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean Jay Johnson AI. By using this site or its chat, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

What's on this site

This site gives general information about my services. Prices, packages and timelines can change. Nothing on the site is an offer you can accept. Work starts only after a written quote and an agreement we both sign, and if that agreement says something different from the site, the agreement wins. Using the site, the chat or the contact form doesn't make you my client. The free first call is a no-obligation conversation, and ideas I share in it are general suggestions.

The AI chat

The "Ask my AI" chat is an AI assistant, not a person. A computer writes its answers, and they can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Please don't rely on anything it says without checking with me first. It can't make promises, give quotes, change prices or agree to anything for me. It doesn't give legal, tax, medical or financial advice. When you send it a message, what you type goes to Anthropic, my AI provider, to write the replies, as my privacy policy explains. The chat is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please don't use it.

Using the site fairly

Please don't use the site or the chat to break the law or harass anyone, try to get around the chat's limits or rules or pull out its instructions, send automated or bulk messages, or type passwords, card numbers, Social Security numbers, health details or other sensitive information. I may block anyone who does.

What belongs to whom

I own the words, design and code of this site, except for parts that belong to others. The Geist font is used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, the Phosphor icons under the MIT License, and the Umami visit counter under the MIT License. You're welcome to link to this site, but please ask before copying it or its content.

Other companies

Anthropic, Claude, Google, Netlify, Umami and other names on this site belong to their owners. I mention them only to explain what I use or set up. I'm not affiliated with them, and they don't endorse me.

Links

Links to other websites are there to help you. I don't control those sites.

No promises about the site

I provide this site and the chat as is and as available. I don't promise they'll always work, be free of errors or meet your needs, or that the site's information or the chat's answers are accurate or right for your particular purpose.

Limits

I'm not responsible for indirect or consequential losses or lost profits from using this site or the chat, and my total responsibility for any claim about them is limited to $100. This doesn't limit responsibility for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any rights that consumer protection laws give you. My signed client agreements have their own terms.

Virginia law

Virginia law governs these terms. Any dispute about this site or the chat will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

Changes

If I update these terms, I'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. Changes apply only to use of the site after that date, and they never change an agreement we've already signed.
